Live PCR — Put-Call Ratio
PCR (Put-Call Ratio) compares total Put open interest to total Call open interest across the option chain. Charteq computes it live from the option OI and shows both the whole-chain PCR and the ATM PCR, plus the intraday trend.
PCR is a positioning gauge, not a signal. It tells you how puts vs calls are stacked; you interpret it in context.
How PCR is read
PCR = total Put OI / total Call OI. A PCR above 1 means more puts are written/held (often read as support-heavy / bullish-leaning positioning); below 1 means calls dominate (resistance-heavy / bearish-leaning). Extremes can also signal crowded positioning ripe for a reversal.
Whole-chain vs ATM PCR
The whole-chain PCR summarises the entire option chain; the ATM PCR (near the current spot) reflects the immediate battle at the money. Charteq shows both so you see the broad bias and the near-term one.
FAQ
What is a good PCR value?
There is no single "good" value — PCR is relative. Around 1 is balanced; sustained readings well above 1 are put-heavy, well below 1 are call-heavy. What matters is the level in context and its trend through the day.
Is PCR above 1 bullish?
Often read as support-heavy/bullish-leaning positioning, but not a guarantee. Very high PCR can also mark crowded put-writing that unwinds sharply. Use it as one input, not a signal.
Where does Charteq's PCR come from?
From live option open-interest data across the chain, recomputed continuously. It is factual OI-derived data — no prediction.
